Resort Policies & Customs

Attire: Shirts and shoes are required in the Mountain House at all times. No swimwear, ripped, torn, or frayed clothing is permitted in the dining rooms. Casual and athletic attire is acceptable throughout the day as you enjoy the resort; however, we ask that you dress in resort evening attire for dinner to preserve our Mohonk tradition.

Bathing Beach: Access to the beach is reserved for registered overnight guests only. Guests under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Guests under 16 must have parent or guardian permission.

Cancellation: At Mohonk Mountain House, we understand the need at this time for flexibility in travel. To make sure you can book your stay at Mohonk with confidence, we’re offering penalty free options such as changing dates, applying deposits to future stays, or refunding deposits based on your needs. Check-In/Check-Out: Check-in begins at 4pm. Check-out is at 12pm unless otherwise specified. A valid government-issued photo ID and major credit card are required upon check-in.

Children: Children are defined as guests ages 4-12. Children ages 3 and under stay complimentary. Ages 13 and older are charged full rate. To add extra adults or children to your room, please contact the Mohonk Reservations Department. Please note: failure to put in the correct age of each child in your party may result in an adjustment to your total charge.

Dining Reservations: Although meals are included in overnight rates, we require that our overnight guests reserve seating times for dinner each night of their stay prior to arrival by calling 877-724-3159. Drones: Mohonk Mountain House prohibits the use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) otherwise known as unmanned aerial vehicles, drones, quad-copters, radio-controlled model airplanes and/ or any other equipment of this type, on or above its property unless such use is approved through our permit application process. This policy supports our commitment to the protection of all wildlife (specifically in this context, birds of all species), and the safety, privacy and well-being of our guests, as well as the quality of their personal experiences in nature. This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, any and all use of drones for purposes such as aerial photography, videography and entertainment/recreational use.

In certain situations, Mohonk will grant special permits for the use of drones. For more information on how to obtain a permit, please contact Alex Sherwood, Director of Hotel Operations, at ajsherwood@mohonk.com.

Guarantee Policy: A deposit equal to one night’s room rate is charged at the time of booking to guarantee your reservation. Guests must be 18 years of age to make overnight reservations and stay at Mohonk Mountain House.

Payment: Your card will be charged the remaining balance for room and board, the administrative fee and taxes for your entire stay upon check in. If your balance is being paid for by a master bill your card will be authorized for $50.00 a day for incidentals. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Diner’s Club are accepted, as well as cash and personal checks. Please note that we discourage the use of debit cards.

Pedestrian Conveyances: Rollerblading (in-line skating), skateboarding, hoverboarding, heelys and scooters are not permitted on Mohonk Mountain House grounds. Heelys or Roller Shoes, rollerblades, skateboards, hoverboards, or scooters may not be used for skating in the House or on the grounds.

Pets: Pets not permitted. Only service animals that meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act will be allowed on the resort property.

Private Property: All guests must have prior reservations for overnight rooms, dining, or spa services before being permitted to drive onto resort grounds. To maintain the tranquility of the Mohonk experience for our guests, all tours and site visits must be pre-arranged with a member of the Mohonk staff.

Reservations: Guests must be 18 years of age to make overnight reservations and stay at Mohonk Mountain House.

Smoking: Smoking, including vaping, is not permitted in guest rooms, on porches and balconies, or anywhere else in the Mountain House. Smoking and vaping are permitted in designated outdoor areas. Additional cleaning fees begin at $250.00.

Television: Televisions can be found in designated public areas. A limited number of televisions are available for rental in guest rooms.

The Spa at Mohonk Mountain House: We recommend that you schedule spa services and private instruction prior to arrival in order to better secure a treatment time most convenient to you.
